Cub pack #8 was originally chartered in 1957 and has been in continuous operation for over 50 years. We are members of the North Valley District 5 of the Minsi Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Minsi Trails Council consists of 5 districts. Cub Pack #8 currently consists of about 20 Cub Scouts in 5 dens of Webelos, Bear and Wolf scouts. There will also be a Tiger den after School Night registration. Cub Pack #8 has approximately 15 adult Leaders and Committee members.
Our chartered organization is UCC Greenawalds at 2325 Albright Avenue in Allentown. There are several scout groups who also meet at UCC Greenawalds. This includes boys as well as girl scouts. Cub Pack #8 meets every Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall of the church with monthly pack meeting the first Friday of each month.
Cub Pack #8 is active in various activities at both the den and pack level. This includes field trips, district and council events, rain gutter/space derby, pinewood derby, cub mobile race/Parkland Grand Prix, and we also participate in summer camp with an average of 15-20 boys attending this 5-day camp. Summer camp is held at Akelaland, the Cub Scout Camp at Trexler Scout Reservation. Activities at Akelaland included archery, BB guns, swimming, boating, nature hikes, campfires, arts and crafts, and more. We encourage all boys to participate in this great camping experience.
Cub Pack #8 hopes to provide a place for boys to enjoy Cub Scouting thru the next millennium.
